PBE Games : NPC Traits
Hey folks. I wanted to let you all know that I will be shutting down the PBE Games website on August 15th, 2026. I originally created this site over 30 years go as a learning tool for myself. I'm now retired and, to be blunt, the ongoing fight with various bots and spammers has become too much to deal with these days. Thanks to everyone who has used the site and support it over the years. Instructions
This generator creates a brief description of an NPC's personality and social traits. It's based on the NPC trait tables found in the 1st edition AD&D Dungeon Master's Guide, making it especially useful for role-playing games such as Castles & Crusades, classic D&D, Labyrinth Lord, Swords & Wizardry, and many others. It's pretty random, sometimes leading to pretty bizzare results. Reroll or alter to suit as you desire.
To use, simply hit the button! Traits are listed in both tabular and plain-text format.
